Singing has always been in Ope’s blood. He wrote his first song at age 6 to remember a memory verse (Philippians 4:6): “Do not worry about anything, pray about everything and thank God for the answer”. Growing up in Nigeria, Ope was a big fan of Psalty’s Kids Praise, Hosanna Integrity and Don Moen.
As an active church boy from a young age, Ope was involved in church productions and eventually joined the choir. As a teenager, he led the campus choir as worship leader and choir director.
He was ordained a minister in June 2003, a month after the birth of his first child. He has been compiling the songs included in his first album “I Will Follow You” since then. He views the songs as a revelation of who God is and an affirmation of his dedication to Him. Through the songs, he wants to convey this revelation of who God is that will lead people to a deeper relationship with Him.
